School Life

Italian school is quite difficult and the expectations are high. Participants will be enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year of the five years of the scuola superiore program. They will follow classes in a local liceo from Monday to Saturday morning. Classes include Italian, Mathematics, Sciences, Physics, Foreign Language (German or French), Geography, History, Physical Education. The school year runs from September to June.

Accommodations

Participants will live with an Italian family. Like full family members, they will share the family's everyday life, participate in activities and adapt to the family rules.

Terms of participation

  • Participants should be a minimum 14 years old and a maximum 18 years old upon arrival
  • Have good academics
  • Have a minimum of one year of Italian
  • Have travel insurance to cover sickness, accidents, repatriation, and third party liability

Financial Terms

Included: host family search, screening and placement process; accommodation as described; school registration; transfer on arrival; 24-hour emergency support; coordinator assistance & progress reports; mandatory orientation; our support to obtain the permit of stay; administrative costs, culture week upon arrival.

Not included: round trip transportation; local transportation if needed; school fees, lunch if taken at school; personal expenses; travel insurance; passport and visa fees.
