Program Details

Learn French with a group of international students in the area of Paris! During the first two weeks, participants attend morning classes with an experienced teacher from Monday to Friday, and take part in activities and sightseeing in the afternoon. Every Wednesday is dedicated to a cultural day trip. During the third week (optional) participants will have an opportunity to experience the life of a French family by themselves.

Options: If you have a specific group request, we can arrange the program in different regions, for example, in Montelimar or La Rochelle.

Arrival

• June 30 to July 14 (2 weeks)
• June 30 to July 21 (3 weeks)
• Participants are transferred from the closest airport (Paris Charles de Gaulle) to their host family.

Accommodations

Participants will stay with a designated homestay family in a single or double room (depending on availability) with full board, most likely with other program participants if they are from a different language background.

Day 1  Meet & greet, transfer to host family

Day 2  Full day with the host family

Day 3  Morning: French lessons; afternoon: guided tour (Tuileries Garden, Concorde Square)

Day 4  Morning: French lessons; afternoon: visit of Notre Dame Cathedral & St Michel district (Sorbonne and Luxembourg gardens)

Day 5  Full day at Versailles Castle and Gardens & shopping time

Day 6  Morning: French lessons; afternoon: The Eiffel Tower/ Trocadéro Square 

Day 7 Morning: French lessons; afternoon: Rivoli Street, famous shopping street with fashionable brands

Day 8  Le Louvre Museum, the largest museum in Paris & stroll in the famous “quartier des Halles” (Pompidou Centre, City Hall)

Day 9  Full day with the host family

Day 10  Morning: French lessons; afternoon: cruise on the Seine (Bateaux Mouches) & Marais district (Bastille Opera, Vosges Square, Victor Hugo House)

Day 11 Morning: French lessons; afternoon: Montmartre district, Sacré-Coeur Basilica & free time

Day 12  Full day at Disneyland theme park

Day 13  Morning: French lessons; afternoon: Orsay Museum, stroll along the St Martin Canal

Day 14 Morning: French lessons; afternoon: Arc de Triomphe & shopping on the Champs-Elysées

Day 15 Departure day

Activities

Every Wednesday and every other afternoon are dedicated to activities and cultural excursions in the area. Participants will discover the beautiful Paris and its cultural treasures, such as the Musée du Louvre, the Musée d'Orsay, Notre-Dame, the Eiffel Tower. They will have the opportunity to wander in the charming Montmartre, admire the Château de Versailles, and have a fun day in the famous local theme park.

Terms of participation

• Participants must be between 12 and 18 1/2 years old
• Have a basic knowledge of French
• Take the French courses seriously
• Be motivated and respect family rules
• Have travel insurance covering sickness, accidents, repatriation, and third part liability

Financial terms

Included: language courses as described - transfers - recruitment of and placement with a host family - accommodation and meals as described - activities as described - local program support - administrative fees - various taxes

Not included: round trip transportation - personal expenses - travel insurance - passport & visa fees if needed
