How long is the Mini High School Experience?

The program duration is two or three weeks. 

Who are the Mini High School Experience students? 

The Mini High School Experience students are curious and independent teenagers who are excited to experience an American high school. Students are carefully screened by your offices for maturity, independence, personality, and interest to do well in the U.S. Students must speak English to be able to function in an American high school. Although no transcript will be awarded, respectful behaviour in classes is expected, as well as projects/homework submission if requested by the teacher. Students will receive an Edventours Certificate of Completion upon successful finish of the program.  

Program includes:
  • Student's attendance at their American high school for 2 or 3 weeks
  • Preferred months of arrival are October-April
  • Placement with a local host family for public/private day schools with three meals a day, a room (a room can be shared with a host sibling similar gender and age) and a quiet place to study. For boarding schools, full room and board placement at the school's dorm residence.
  • Medical insurance 
  • Support of the local coordinator and the national office
Program Requirements
  • Students must be able to have a conversation and some writing in English 
  • Students can be between the ages of 14-19
  • Student must be in good health
